FAQ
HOSPITALITY
1. Can I book my hotel reservation directly with the hotel?
The CGTA Hospitality Bureau negotiates special rates with the hotels for each Toronto Gift Show. The only way to take advantage of these special rates is to book directly with the CGTA Hospitality Bureau.
2. Why do some hotels sell out before I get my renewal kit?
The CGTA Hospitality Bureau accepts hotel reservation requests beginning at 8:30 am on the Sunday morning of the Toronto Gift Show for the next show. Some hotels do sell out during the previous gift show. Please note that the Hospitality Bureau is open all year to accept hotel reservation requests although we do not accept reservations prior to the first day of the previous gift show as mentioned above (i.e.: Hotel rooms may be booked starting on the first day of the spring show for the upcoming fall show and vice versa).
3. How long does it take to process my hotel reservation request?
Once the renewal kits have been sent out, hotel confirmation letters will be sent out within 5 business days of receiving the hotel reservation request.
4. I have allergies. How do I make sure that I get a non-smoking room?
Although the CGTA Hospitality Bureau cannot guarantee a non-smoking room, we do forward special requests to the hotels. Be sure to indicate on your request form your request for a non-smoking room is for medical reasons.
5. My plane doesn't land until after midnight. How do I make sure that the hotel holds my room?
Please be sure to include a valid credit card number to guarantee the reservation for late arrival.
6. How do I make an airline reservation?
The CGTA Hospitality Bureau has negotiated a special convention rate with Air Canada. You or your travel agent can contact Air Canada at 800-361-7585 and quote the current convention number which you will find on the Hotels page of his website. They will advise the best applicable rate for your travel dates.

EXHIBITING AT THE TORONTO GIFT SHOW
1. How do I get booth space?
In order to potentially obtain booth space in a future Toronto Gift Show you must become a Silver then Gold member in good standing of the Association. To do this you must complete the CGTA Membership Application that can be accessed on this website and return it and all of the requested information to the CGTA office. For more information, refer to the Membership section of this website. CGTA members are not given any guarantee of show participation at the Toronto Gift Show by the CGTA.
2. I am currently a Gold CGTA member. Why must I wait for booth space?
Due to space limitations, all recent Gold members (before January 27, 2004) have been placed on a waiting list for exhibit space to be contacted by show staff, according to membership seniority, should space become available.
3. I am currently a Silver CGTA member. How do I become a Gold member and a Toronto Gift Show exhibitor?
Only Gold members may exhibit in the Toronto Gift Show. The CGTA, may, at its discretion, invite Silver members in good standing to apply for a Gold membership. If approved for Gold membership the company would then be placed on a wait list to potentially exhibit in the show, should spaces come available, according to member seniority.
4. As a new exhibitor, how many booths am I entitled?
All exhibit space is allocated according to CGTA membership seniority (as space becomes available). New exhibitors could be offered up to four booths for their first show depending on space availability. Once space has been assigned to a new exhibitor, the new exhibitor must wait two years before applying for additional space.
