During the Toronto Gift Shows in August and January, the association assigns industry judges to the task of scouring over one million square feet of exhibit space for exemplary booths.

A winning company and an honourable mention is chosen in four categories: Small Booth, Medium Booth, Large Booth and Best New Exhibitor. The company which receives the highest mark overall is presented with the Allan J. Browne Award, named after the association's founding president.
